presumably owing to the magnitude of emotion, intensity of effort, and abruptness of the many, often gruesome and painful deaths, offer numerous anecdotes.
A growing number dating to the present day, including reported recordings, pictures and sightings of "ghostly apparition," audible sensations (battle cries, cavalry, cannon fire) and other paranormal effects of every manner.
